Bonded storage

A customs-controlled facility where imported goods are held with duty and tax suspended until they are formally released.

Why it matters operationally

International events move material across borders, often temporarily. Goods that will leave again — broadcast equipment, hire kit, display stock — can be held or moved under bond rather than having duty paid and reclaimed. Getting this wrong is expensive and slow, and it is decided by paperwork submitted weeks before anything ships.
