Disposition
The decision about what happens to an item after the event — returned to hire, sold, donated, stored for the next event, or disposed of.
Why it matters operationally
Disposition is a large, largely invisible cost, and increasingly a reporting obligation: public-sector and major-events contracts now routinely ask what proportion of overlay was reused rather than landfilled. Deciding it item by item during load-out, under time pressure, is how reusable stock ends up in a skip.
