Goods received note

The record made by the receiving side confirming what actually arrived, in what condition, and who accepted it.

Why it matters operationally

It is the counterpart to the bill of lading and the trigger for payment in most finance processes. An event that cannot produce goods received notes cannot defend an invoice dispute, which at the scale overlay is bought at is a real number rather than an administrative nicety.

Receiving on a phone produces this record as a by-product of the count, rather than as a separate form somebody fills in later.
